Who is Solaris?

Solaris is a young Dreamer, Rootworker, Artist, Mother, and devotee to La Santa Muerte.

Solaris does not see a defined gender or sexuality for themself. They identify with the experience of queer girl-womanhood in a visibly female African body.

Born and raised in Detroit, Michigan, Solaris has experienced their own share of adversity and has long been driven by the desire to see less suffering in the world.

This has led them down a path of studying medicine, psychology, social work, spirituality, and environment.

The paths of the scholar and the shaman resonate with Solaris’ Spirit. They are a practicing Death Doula and Herbalist, preferring the term “medicine person”. Solaris is currently attending university for Psychology with a minor in Violence Prevention and Intervention.

Solaris began to publicly offer their services as a medicine person under the name “Bendiciones de Dama Muerte” after years of practice and gathering knowledge in the subjects of Hoodoo, Curanderismo, Indigenous North American and African spirituality, and Metaphysics.

This blog is Solaris’ space to share, be their most authentic self, and act in alignment with their desire to ease suffering.
