What Is “Solarisism”?
“Solarisism” is the name I gave to my personal philosophy;
the set of principles that guide me through and help me understand this experience.
I may also refer to Solarisism as my personal religion.
The definition of “religion” that I hold at the forefront of my mind is:
“something one believes in and follows devotedly; a point or matter of ethics or conscience.”
I call my own personal beliefs “Solarisism” or “the religion of Solaris” because Solaris is my name.
My beliefs are not set in stone. Solarisism is continually growing and changing as I am.
My personal beliefs are built and centered on a passionate admiration and gratitude for Death,
a desire for continuous growth and knowledge,
a strong sense of Justice,
and the concept of Love as defined by M. Scott Peck in “The Road Less Travelled” and bell hooks in “All About Love” as
“The will to extend one’s self for the purpose of nurturing one’s own or another’s spiritual growth.”
My intentions for this blog are to post essays and other writings that are essentially collections of my perspective, thoughts, and knowledge about plant and energy medicine.
My goal is never to convince others that my way of life is “right” and theirs is “wrong”.
I share my thoughts, feelings, and perspectives because I want to, I feel compelled to do so, and I can.
My goal is to share knowledge and encourage others to think and feel in ways that help them grow.
I only ever want myself and others to think and act in ways that cultivate Well-Being.
I understand deviation from the path is inevitable and perfectly human.
I have continuously led myself from suffering to thriving through the worst circumstances.
That is an ability I wish for everyone to have.
There are many different ways to think about things and live life.
Open yourself to as many new perspectives and experiences as possible; that’s the only way you can know what fulfills you.
